Come and visit Charolles called "the Little Venice of Charollais" on account of the canals and rivers crisscrossing the town. From the old castle and the surrounding walls you will have a beautiful view over the rooftops of the city and the forests. You will discover the towers of the Diamond and Saint-Jacques, known as Charles-le-Téméraire.
Also worth seeing is the former convent of the Poor Clares of the 16th century, present site of the Charolles tourist office and the former convent of the Visitandines, founded in 1637, present seat of the courthouse and the high school. Charolles is also proud to have produced a very famous faience for 170 years with very beautiful motifs.
Of course the area is also renown for its flocks of sheep, pigs but especially for the famous Charollais steers reputed all over the world. On Wednesdays the great fair animates the city.
